Come check out our vacation house and become one of our many repeat guests! We are going into the 16th year of owning and renting our little piece of heaven and very proud of it. Thank you to all of our guests who have been very kind to the beach house too!
NEW FOR 2024 -- Updated some electrical switches/outlets. Not so exciting but necessary :)
NEW FOR 2022-23 -- Some new furniture - kitchen/dining table & living room tables.
NEW FOR 2023 -- Oak Island started charging for parking at public spaces including beach accesses. It runs from April 1st to September 30th each year. For more information, go to: www.oakislandnc.gov/residents-visitors/parking-information. We are not happy about this but our house has great beach access and if you stay there, you should not have to drive to the beach access and pay the parking fees!
We have switched over to ROKU streaming devices on all TV's except the LR TV is a smart one - no Roku on this one. We cut the cord from cable TV but we still have the Spectrum app!
Tropical Breeze is a kid-friendly & dog-friendly 3 bedroom/2 bath beach house located approximately 100 yards from the beautiful blue Atlantic Ocean on Oak Island, NC. You can't beat this location to take your vacation. There is just so much to do on Oak Island or you can just stay at Tropical Breeze and relax in the tranquil environment. Come see the dolphins swim or view one of the many bird species and other wildlife on this island sanctuary. Enjoy the ocean views and beautiful sunsets from the fully covered large front porch while sitting on a swing.
The kitchen/dining/living area is a large open airy living space with a cathedral ceiling. It's great for entertaining. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to cook up something in between your trips to the beach. We even have a 19 qt lobster/clam steamer pot and a crockpot. Open one of the many front windows to feel the wonderful ocean breezes. You can watch a movie on the large flat screen TV or just enjoy the view while relaxing on the large comfortable sofas.
--The master bedroom has a king-size bed with it's own private bathroom with a shower/tub. The master bedroom is equipped with a flat screen TV and DVD Player and an alarm clock. It is furnished with a sitting chair, small work desk and stocked bookcase for those who like to read before going to bed.
--The second bedroom has a queen-size bed, sitting chair and a flat screen TV.
--The third bedroom has 2 twin-size beds and a flat-screen TV.
Each bedroom has its own closet, dresser, night stand(s), ceiling fan, overhead light, and cable/phone connection.
There are beautiful hardwood floors throughout the entire home.
Wireless (WiFi) internet service is accessible anywhere on the property so you can get away and still be in touch. We no longer have a landline beginning 2023.
The house has central air conditioning and heating. The laundry room is conveniently located on the main floor inside the house. There is a hot and cold outside shower in addition to the 2 full bathrooms. For those who fish there is an outdoor sink next to the outside shower to clean off your catch. The fully-fenced yard and gated porch provide peace of mind for those traveling with dogs or children. Enjoy the ocean breezes while picnicking underneath the house in the shade--or play cornhole toss.
There are plenty of books, puzzles, board games and a video library to whittle the time away in between trips to the beach.

Oak Island is a very family-oriented vacation destination. It is located 40 minutes from Wilmington & an hours drive to Myrtle Beach, SC. Oak Island has approximately 12 miles of white sandy beaches. The island faces south, so the ocean waters are usually fairly gentle. The beaches are dog-friendly year round with no time restrictions. There are many fishing spots on Oak Island. If you like golfing, there are local golf courses & Myrtle Beach is not that far away. Southport is a short ride away & has many nice restaurants. Historic Wilmington is a 40 minute drive away with many sights, shops & eateries. For those who do not want to drive too far, there are many wonderful local restaurants & shops on Oak Island. You can walk to the convenience market only 2 blocks away from Tropical Breeze to get the morning paper. You can rent bikes, mopeds, golf carts, scooters, kayaks & many other things at one of the local shops. There is also a dog park & skateboard park nearby. Local Grocery Shopping: Food Lion, Lowes Food, Fresh Seafood Markets, Produce Stand.

We do allow dogs to stay for a fee (sorry no cats or other animals). Maximum 2 dogs.
NC Lodging tax: 12.75%
Deposits: 50% deposit is due within 7 days of making a reservation. Balance due 30 days prior to check-in. If check-in date is less than 30 days from your reservation date, full amount will be due upon making your reservation. If your deposit is not received within 7 days of making your reservation, we will have to cancel your reservation.
--Please email owner for off season nightly rates. Min stay off season: 3 nights
--Departure maid service is included (we ask you to do few small tasks).

--Other Fees: Your dogs are welcome at Tropical Breeze (sorry, dogs only). We charge a non-refundable pet fee of $200 for the 1st dog and $100 for each additional dog-max of 2 dogs. Please let us know what type of dog(s) you have. We don't discriminate against any breeds as long as you assure us they are well behaved and housebroken. We do require that you clean-up after your dog in the backyard. If there is a dog mess left in the yard, we may backcharge you for cleanup/repair and deduct any extra fees from your security deposit as this would be considered damage.
--A $250 security deposit is required which will be refunded to you within 30 days of checking out provided there is no damage or no treatments are needed.
Linen Rental: $121 plus tax (if selected)
Processing Fee: $35 plus tax (on all reservations)
Travel Insurance: Approximately 10% (optional)
Oh, and the coffee maker is a combo K-cup and drip carafe - can be used either way.
We offer optional Travel Insurance which we can provide details for upon request. We highly recommend this as we do not refund monies for a tropical storm or hurricane.
SMOKING - Smoking is permitted outside the house only. Please make sure to extinguish cigarettes completely and to clean up your cigarette butts. Thank you :)

We spent every day on the beach and picked a new place to eat every night. We did a little shopping but mostly just relaxed.
