Welcome To 'Meant To Be, our Sandcastle by the Sea
Where it's all about sun on your cheeks and sand on your feet!
We are located 8 miles up the beach from the end of highway 12 and ACCESSIBLE BY 4WD ONLY. Due to the uniqueness of this area we suggest you contact the homeowners prior to booking as there are no paved roads. Carova Beach is one of the last remaining beaches on the Atlantic Coast that seems to have been lost in time. Home to about 200 year round residents and the Corolla Wild Horses, it is a place where everyone knows each other and live by the changing tides. Watching the wild horses stroll across the sand dunes and stop to graze on sea oats is magical, not to mention the dolphins swimming and playing. Shelling is another favorite pass time here on Carova. It's always a treasure to find a sand dollar or whelk left behind from the changing tides. And be sure to take a dip in the beautiful Carolina ocean letting all your worries wash away. Rise early one morning to watch the sunrise over the ocean, enjoy the brilliant red sunsets over the sound, look up to see a beautiful star filled Carolina night sky and milky-way, then drift off to the sound of the ocean singing you to sleep.
Come experience all these things that are unique only to the Northern Beaches of the Outer Banks. You will love all that 'Meant To Be' has to offer you as your vacation home. We offer all our guests use of our ocean kayak (see if the dolphins will swim along with you) and take the canoe out through the canals just before dusk and enjoy the horses, deer, blue herons and much more. The ocean views from the upper deck and the ship's watch beckon you to stay and lose yourself in the serenity of these beautiful beaches. The top floor has an elevated ship's watch with hardwood floors and fantastic ocean views. The great room opens to wrap around decks with ocean to sound side views.
Remember to visit False Cape State Park just 2.5 miles north and enjoy the natural beauty of the undisturbed beaches. Try your luck at surf fishing and crabbing or enjoy just sitting and watching the pelicans fish. Spend the day shopping in Timbuck II or in the town of Duck then enjoy one of the many fine restaurants. Climb the Currituck Light House. Take a drive South on Highway 12 to Hatteras Island and Hatteras Lighthouse and enjoy the over 70 miles of undeveloped National Seashore.
Continue south and ride the ferry to Ocracoke Island. Visit Roanoke Island and the North Carolina Aquarium. Take a chartered fishing trip from Oregon Inlet, known for some of the best fishing along the Atlantic Coastline. Play a round of golf at the Currituck Club. Or just relax on the beach or by the poolside and soak up the day.
An extra large kitchen offers two dishwashers and is fully stocked with all amenities. The second floor has four bedrooms. The three masters opening to wrap around decks with two porch swings and a hammock. The bottom level has one bedroom with full bath, a game room with a pool table, card table, and kitchenette. Outside, enjoy a large private pool and hot tub. And make a wish upon a shooting star while enjoying an evening in the hot tub. Come stay awhile and you will fall in love!

Had a great stay! I can't say enough about the location... Melissa, the owner, was very responsive in making sure all our needs were met!

This house is very nice and in a beautiful location. This was our first time on the 4x4 beach and we loved it! The layout of the house is great; bedrooms are a nice size and there was good seating in the living areas. There were some cleanliness issues with dog hair from the previous renters who didn't follow the rules, but communication with the owner about that was outstanding. Owners were very helpful when we realized we forgot something - UPS doesn't deliver on the sand!! We used the pool every day; can't comment about the hot tub, because we never got in it. We had 12 people and never ran out of hot water for showers which can be an issue sometimes. Plenty of games there and the outdoor decks were great in the morning and the evening. Horses came to visit a couple of times - the kids were delighted! My only suggestion would be to include an ice maker in the kitchen instead of the second dishwasher when you are ready to upgrade. Keeping enough ice on hand for coolers to take to the beach was difficult since freezer spacer was limited. All in all a great family vacation!

Gorgeous sunsets, endless beach, majestic horses, all just a few of the things that this magical place offers, as well as a beautiful house with everything you need to call home for your stay.
