This completely renovated 4 bedroom 2 bath house is located on the west end of Holden Beach. It is pet friendly with covered and gated front and back porches. New 6 foot fence surrounding back yard. Hard wood and laminate dog friendly floors throughout with tile bath floors.
This comfortable house sleeps 8 with 1 king, 2 queen and 1 pyramid bunkbed.. It has a Jack and Jill arrangement with bedrooms on 4 corners and baths in between. One bath has new tile shower and the other a bathtub/ shower combination. The well stocked kitchen, dining area and den are located in the center of the house. All rooms are on one floor which is accessed by front and back stairs. We have added a tall fence around the back yard and a new washing machine.
If you are looking for big and flashy, this is not your house. It is well decorated and charming. House is located on the second row on a corner lot and the beach access is across the street and one house over. The street that runs beside the house is Seagull. There is parking for 3 cars in the yard and 1 car under the house. The back porch has an eating/sitting area with washer/dryer in closet space off of back porch.
Often deer can be seen walking up the road next to the house. Holden Beach is an island and the deer swim across the waterway and wander out to the beach regularly. There is a swing downstairs and an outside shower with hot and cold water under the front staircase. The front porch is covered with multicolored rocking chairs and has peekaboo ocean views. One of the interesting features of Holden Beach is the tall curved bridge which joins the island to the mainland. A Pawleys Island hammock is available for long afternoon naps.
The island is great for bicycling, walking, jogging and strolling. It has a family friendly atmosphere, is never overcrowded and there are no high rise units permitted at this beach. There is a great workout station in the center of the island. There is a playground just behind city hall near the bridge which has a waterworks area for children. Great care has been taken to nourish the beach and dunes and the beach is wide.
There is a putt-putt golf course on the island and Beaches and Cream serves up some of the most delicious ice cream you have ever eaten. Holden Beach was named one of the top ten family beaches in the US. Bring your family and pets to a REAL beach house where a fantastic vacation awaits!
Amenities: Cable TV (2), high speed internet, telephone, DVD, central HVAC, dishwasher, microwave, washer/dryer, outdoor shower, pet friendly, beach chairs, beach umbrella, tents, bikes and peace and quiet. Linens and towels are included with every rental.
RENTS WEEKLY SUNDAY TO SUNDAY between Memorial Day and Labor Day, off season rental requires a 2 night minimum.
*Our house is closed during December, January and February due to likelihood of frozen pipes in laundry room. Please visit us before winter freeze or after spring thaw!*

About The Owner
We had spent a weeks' vacation at Holden Beach with our 3 children every summer for 15 years before deciding that we had found the perfect house on the island. We live in South Carolina and grew up going to South Carolina beaches. We found in Holden a beach like we used to visit as children, none of the traffic and push and shove found in the Myrtle Beach area. We love the quiet atmosphere on Holden. Our dogs love the beach as well as long walks through the neighborhoods.

Our house is not a giant new 6 bedroom place. It is a comfortable, clean, charming real beach house which has character with soothing off white beadboard walls and beautiful wood ceilings. The second row corner location on the west end of the beach gives us quick access to the beach and a quiet side street which leads to the inland waterway.
What makes this House unique
Holden Beach has been voted one of the top 10 family beaches in the US. It is close enough to ride down to Myrtle Beach if you need some excitement or to The Outlets for shopping or north to Wilmington or Southport. Our home offers front porch rocking, a wooden swing downstairs, back porch eating and lounging or a nap in our Pawley's Island hammock under the back porch. There are several wonderful seafood stores so you can get the fresh from the ocean fish and shrimp and cook at home or you can visit one of the local restaurants for a great meal. Calabash, one of our favorite spots, is a few miles south and has a large choice of seafood restaurants. We love Holden Beach and know you will too!

Wonderful vacation!
We had a wonderful vacation at What The Shell! The location is perfect - far enough down the island so there isn't so much traffic and the beach access is right across the street. We will be back!
