Description

Entering the main floor of the home and you'll be treated to majestic ocean views from a panorama of windows, illuminating a spacious open living space. Here, a pair of armchairs and two extra wide overstuffed sofas rest beneath soaring vaulted ceilings and a towering hex-tiled fireplace to one side, 60" smart TV on an accent wall, an Alexa voice controlled music system with a 10 million song library.

Walk around the accent wall and you’re in the spacious dining area that offers meal seating for 19 people. A large custom-carved oak dining table provides seating for 12, a table in the adjacent kitchen nook seats 5 and 2 bar stools along the kitchen counter completes the seating options. Passing over a marbled granite countertop to one side brings you into the gourmet-caliber stainless steel kitchen featuring a Sub-Zero refrigerator and Bosch oven, microwave, stove and 2 dishwashers. The kitchen is well stocked for your stay including espresso, Keurig and drip coffee options, crock pot, paninni maker, smoothie maker, pancake griddle and more.

The living room, dining room and kitchen all offer wide breathtaking views of the nearby beach & ocean. Exit through any of the sliding doors and you find yourself on the marvelous elevated rear porch, offering al fresco dining for 8 plus 4 cushioned chairs and loungers for soaking in those beachfront views.

On the south wing of the property, you’ll find two bedrooms each with a king bed, smart TV and en suite bath with marbled vanities and walk-in showers.

The north wing hosts the luxurious master suite featuring a king bed, smart TV and sliders providing private access to a secluded section of the rear porch with expansive ocean views. The en suite bath features dual-basin vanities, walk-in closet, glass doored shower and spa-like garden tub set beneath vaulted ceilings and skylights. Also on the north wing is the 4th bedroom with 2 twin beds that can also be used as an office with a desk, printer, phone and smart TV with Logitech harmony remote o provide privacy and comfort for those who need to need to work a bit during your stay.

On the 3rd level you will find 2 bedrooms that offer elevated relaxation among the treetops visible through eye-level skylights. There's a king bedroom with built-in cushioned benches, coffee table, smart TV, plus a private en suite bath with a tub-shower combination. The 6th bedroom features two twin beds, smart TV and an en suite bath with walk-in shower.

Moving to the lower level of the home you enter a large family/entertainment room that includes multiple sofas, a 60" smart TV, Polk surround sound stereo system, a 2nd Alexa voice controlled music system and a 4-person table for dining or playing games. Off to the right you will find a large wet bar with drink refrigerator, ice maker, microwave, dishwasher and a wide selection of glasses and supplies to serve up your favorite concoctions. You'll also find a pool table with a ping pong table top and an XBox One system with a selection of video games to enjoy.

Adjacent to the family/entertainment room is the 7th bedroom which has a King bed, private en suite bath and smart TV. The 8th bedroom has a queen bed, a pair of twin beds and a smart TV while the 9th bedroom is furnished with a set of bunk beds. The 8th and 9th bedrooms share a hall bath that has a bathtub and separate shower stall. A powder room is centrally located for easy access from the pool or family room.

Step through the wall of sliders and you’re standing amid a spacious pool deck offering plenty of outdoor seating situated around a massive 35' x 20' pool with spa that was resurfaced in March 2018. Seating options include a 4 person table, 2 person bistro table, 4 chaise loungers and an outdoor living room with wrap-around sofa with coffee table that seats 8. There is a patio stereo system to enjoy your favorite music while hanging out at the pool powered by a 3rd Alexa voice controlled music system. Instructions on how to use Alexa to play music, check the weather forecast and more is posted near the outdoor stereo controls.

A bank of dunes and lush greenery provide privacy, while a wooden-planked pathway provides the ultimate luxury amenity: private beach access across a winding boardwalk. Partway on the walkway to the beach you will find a large 18' x 18' deck with 4 Adirondack chairs that are perfect to watch the sunrise over the ocean while sipping morning coffee, or watching the sunset over neighboring Dafuskie Island while enjoying a glass of wine or cigar.

Our home includes a guest tennis membership at the South Beach Racquet Club (1/4 mile from our home). Membership provides 1 free hour per day plus 20% off additional court time, bike rentals and beach equipment rentals.

We purchased our first rental home in Hilton Head in late 2009 (10 Royal Tern Road). 7 Black Duck Road is our 2nd Sea Pines home and our goal is to make this beautiful beachfront home the most sought after rental home on the island. We are very responsive to our guests as we care deeply about providing a top notch vacation for our guests.

Check-In

Check-in time is 4:00pm and check-out time is 10am. Since our home utilizes a key-less entry system, you can proceed directly to our home and begin your vacation. Your key-less entry door code will be sent to you via email 4-7 days prior to your arrival.

​Vehicle Passes

Vehicles entering Sea Pines are required to pay a fee at the gate or display a vehicle pass. Gate passes can be purchased at either Sea Pines gate for $8 per day or $22 per week.

​NOTE: Motorcycles, RV's and trailers are not allowed to enter Sea Pines. Additionally passenger vans or pickup trucks with logos or writing on their sides will need to be parked inside the garages or covered up while being parked in the driveway since all forms of vehicle advertising is prohibited to be parked inside Sea Pines overnight.

Parking

Our driveway has the capacity to park up to 7 standard size cars, plus the garage to handle 2 vehicles. If your group has a number of large SUV's or trucks you may not be able to park 9 vehicles on our property. The Sea Pines development does not allow street parking nor parking vehicles on unpaved surfaces on properties. If you have more vehicles than can be parked on the paved surfaces of our lot, contact me and I can provide details for overflow parking. Vehicles parked in the street or on unpaved surfaces of our lot will be ticketed and towed. This rather strict parking policy is why the beach near our home is so sparsely populated, even during peak summer days.

Electronics

VIDEO: Our home has 10 smart TV's with Spectrum cable TV & HBO included (channel guide can be found at: http://tv.twcc.com/listings/3). All TV's also have Roku Streaming devices attached for simple and fast streaming of your favorite streaming services like NetFlix, Amazon, Hulu and others (you will need to log in with your personal account to access). The Family Room also has a Polk surround sound system for watching movies and/or listening to music while playing pool or hanging out at the wet bar.

VIDEO GAME SYSTEM: Our home has an XBox One system in the lower level family room. Two controllers are provided as well as a collection of video games such as Madden 17, FIFA 17, Disney Rush, MineCraft, Assassin's Creed & Rocket League.

MUSIC SYSTEMS: The pool area has an outdoor stereo system, the family room has a surround sound system and our living room has a sound bar.

VOICE CONTROL SYSTEMS: There are 3 "Alexa" voice control systems in our home located near each music system: in the Living Room, Family Room and on the Pool Patio. All 3 have a subscription to Amazon Music Unlimited which provides access to over 10 million songs simply by asking Alexa for a particular artist, song or music genre. Alexa is connected to the Internet so you can also ask Alexa for the latest weather forecast, the time for the next low tide (riding bikes on the beach is easiest within 4 hours of low tide) or anything you would search google for on your phone, tablet or laptop. Instructions for using Alexa are posted near the pool patio controls.

Well Stocked Kitchen

Our kitchen is well stocked but we are always looking to expand its supply of cookware over time. We have a standing offer to guests that we will purchase unique items that you need in advance of your stay if you let us know upfront, or if upon arrival we can order equipment for 2-day delivery on Amazon Prime. There is a Sub-Zero fridge in and Bosch stove, oven, microwave and 2 dishwashers in the kitchen. There are several coffee makers, an expresso maker, blenders and other small appliances as well. There is a Bosch fridge for overflow food storage in the laundry room.

Well Stocked Wet Bar

The lower level wet bar has a dishwasher, drink refrigerator, microwave and ice maker. There are a variety of glasses and bar equipment for mixing your favorite concoctions, plus silverware and dishes for serving appetizers.

​Courtesy Amenities

All linens (bedding, towels, washcloths) are provided for each guest, as well as starter sets of soaps, dishwashing liquid, laundry detergent, toilet paper, paper towels and kitchen washcloths.

There are 8-10 beach chairs available for guest use stored in the pool patio area. Please rinse or wipe any sand or dirt from whatever you use and store beach chairs to be considerate of future guests.

There is often a collection of children's beach and pool toys that are left behind by prior guests. Feel free to use them if you wish and also feel free to throw broken or rusted toys in the trash if you feel their useful life has passed.

​Pool & Spa

Our pool was resurfaced and re-tiled in March 2018 and is cleaned on Saturdays from October through March, and twice per week on Wednesday and Saturday from April through September. Spa heat is complimentary and the pool can be heated for an additional charge that varies by time of year (ranges from $300 to $600 per week). Contact us at least one week prior to your stay if you wish to order pool heat.

Beach Access

Hilton Head does not require beach tags and there are no life guards on the beach near our home so please monitor members of your group when they swim in the ocean. To access the beach exit the rear pool area and walk straight. Along the way you will notice a large deck with seating for your enjoyment (this is a great place to watch sunsets).

The Sea Pines Beach Club is also available for your use. It's located at 87 N Sea Pines Drive approximately 2 miles north of our home. It has several restaurants, an oceanside bar, outdoor showers, restrooms, parking lot and bike rack. The teenagers in our group like to ride their bikes there and enjoy the livelier atmosphere there while the adults in our group tend to favor the quiet & peaceful beach near our home.

Tennis Membership

Our home has a guest tennis membership at the South Beach Racquet Club, which is located at 230 South Sea Pines Drive, about a quarter mile south of our home. Their phone number is (843) 671-2215 and their web address is http://www.south-beach-racquet-club.com. The guest membership provides guests staying in our home 1 free hour of court time per day. Additional court time can be purchased directly from the club. Our guest membership also allows my guests to rent bikes from the Club and get a 20% discount. To reserve court time or rent bikes using the discount, simply tell the Club that you are staying at 7 Black Duck Road.

Bike Rentals

We highly recommend renting bikes while you're in Sea Pines. Between the 15 miles of bike trails and riding bikes on the beach, biking is one of our family's favorite things to do while on the island. Most local bike rental companies will deliver bikes to our driveway before your arrival (with helmets and locks if requested) and pick them up after your departure for about $30-35 per week depending on bike rental company. South Beach Racquet Club also rents bikes and you can use our guest membership to get a 20% discount on bike rentals. Trash Collection

Trash and recycling pickup is Wednesday & Saturday. The outdoor trash receptacles are located on a deck on the left side of the house which is accessible via the door just past the laundry room on the lower level. It is not necessary to move the cans to the curb as the trash company will collect them directly from the trash deck and put them back once emptied. Please use trash bags and do not place trash directly in the cans as that has been known in the past to attract local critters and bugs.

Check-Out Instructions

Check out time is 10:00am. Unfortunately we cannot accommodate late checkouts if there is a guest checking in later on the day of your departure. Before leaving please ensure the following :

* Leave used beds unmade
* Clean dirty dishes, silverware and cooking utensils and put them away
* Put any last minute dishes in the dishwasher
* Please sign our guestbook before you leave
* Replace any furniture that was rearranged
* Clean out the refrigerator fully and take out the trash
* Check for personal items that may have been accidentally left behind

Restrictions

Our home is a no-smoking home so please smoke outdoors. Pets, parties of more than 25 people, weddings & receptions are not allowed to be held inside our home and will result in immediate eviction with no money returned. There is an excessive noise ordinance in Sea Pines that prohibits disturbing neighbors with loud music or other loud noises past 10pm. Please be courteous of neighbors after 10pm and keep noise levels at a reasonable level.

Perfect vacation home!

We have been coming to Hilton Head for many years and this house is hands down our favorite! The house is beautiful and well maintained. The layout is perfect for multiple families. The view from upstairs is perfect and we really enjoyed seeing the deer throughout the day. Short walk or drive to Salty Dog! Hope to visit again!

Great home in a great location

The set back from the beach gave us privacy on the pool patio. We've stayed at some beachfront homes with zero privacy where beach goers can easily see us lounging by the pool. Home is well appointed and well laid out for large groups. Close to the Salty Dog & South Beach shops and about 30 yards from the bike trail entrance, which was ideal for our kids. Already reserved for next year!

Great family vacation

Our family spent a week at 7 Black Duck in late April and early May, with 6 adults and 3 toddlers. The house layout was great, allowing each family to have a separate bedroom area (with still more rooms to spare). We took advantage of all of the amenities - lots of time in the pool, on the beach (direct access), BBQ’s at night, and wonderful vista’s of the ocean from the deck. Not having stayed in Hilton Head before, we found the location very convenient - a short walk or bike ride to the restaurants and shops in South Marina and an easy bike ride to Harbor Town. We also found the owner very responsive to our pre and during vacation questions. We would recommend this as a great location for a family vacation.

Dolphins Delight

We had 21 of us down in Sea Pines for Christmas vacation and 13 stayed at this great home on the beach! The views are spectacular and the huge deck with plenty of seating to eat or lounge was a perfect spot to take in the gorgeous sunsets! The kitchen was stocked with everything needed to prepare some great meals and the dining room table was a wonderful and comfortable place to gather. The kids and adults enjoyed the pool table downstairs and then card games around the table upstairs at night! There plenty of room to spread out and perfect for multiple families. It’s a quick trip to the Salty Dog on your bikes and about a 20 minute bike ride to Harbor town. We loved having breakfast and/or lunch at the Harbortown Bakery & Cafe and Java Burrito. Both were fantastic!! And everyday we saw multiple dolphins playing near the shore!! It was a perfect trip!!! Great stay!!! And Mike was great to reach out to!
