Come and visit an old fashioned beach community, similar to what you knew as a child. Sunbathe on the beautiful, quiet beaches; hunt for shells and shark teeth while you walk along the shore. Play a round of golf; catch up on your tennis. Bring home your own freshly caught dinner when you fish along the surf. Or crab or shrimp in the island's back marshes. Our villa is located on the golf course of Ocean Ridge Resort, on Edisto Beach, SC.
This spacious unit has two bedrooms and an open sleeping loft. With two queen-size beds and two singles, it will sleep a total of six guests. There are two bathrooms - including a master bathroom with a whirlpool tub. Special features include ceiling fans in every room, vaulted ceilings, a fireplace, and a screened porch with a great view of the golf course.
PLEASE NOTE---This is a PET FREE rental due to very bad asthma and pet allergies throughout our family! Thank you for your understanding and please do not ask us to make exceptions. Thanks in advance.
We are also a SMOKE FREE rental. Please do not smoke in the house or on the screened porch. Smoking is very bad for people with asthma also.
We have a fully stocked kitchen. I do a lot of cooking, so just about anything you can find in my kitchen, you can find in our vacation home kitchen.
I include the most up to date house inventory list as part of the information packet that I send to each potential guest.
Some staples are in the kitchen, like spices, salt and pepper. Also sandwich bags, aluminum foil and plastic wrap at the beginning of the season. There is usually DW detergent under the sink too
There is room for at least 2 cars in the carport directly underneath the house.
Located under the house to the right side of the carport, there is a picnic table and old fashioned swing and the out door totally enclosed shower.
We live in Coatesville, PA and have been visiting the beaches of South Carolina since 1988. In 1995 we stumbled upon Edisto Beach when we exchanged our time share week in Williamsburg, VA for a week at Edisto Beach. At first we weren't quite sure what to make of this quiet, sleepy little beach town that had no exit sign off I95, no signage anywhere in Walterboro (that we came across). Before the end of our first visit we knew that we wanted to come back. We had grown up going to the New Jersey shores of Wildwood and Seaside Heights that had boardwalks and amusement piers. We had spent several years going to Hilton Head and Myrtle Beach where you can find similar entertainment and TRAFFIC AND CROWDS, but here in Edisto Beach, there was no TRAFFIC, no CROWDS, no AMUSEMENT PIERS or boardwalks and we loved it! We loved the peace, the tranquility and the beauty. So within 5 years of visiting the Island, we decided to buy a place, which is saying a lot since we have spent a lot more time at other, closer beaches. The only drawback that we have found with the island is that it is 11 1/2 hours away from our home which limits our number of visits every year. If only we could move SC about 7 hours closer to Coatesville, life would be even better!!! :-)
