Our home is located in the heart of the Smokey Mountains, just a 7 minute drive from Waynesville and a 30 min drive to Asheville.

There are magnificent mountain views from the great room, gourmet kitchen, master bedroom, 2 guest bedrooms, downstairs den, decks, and screened in porch.The large deck space allows one to enjoy the mountain air while close to nature. Comfortable deck furniture allows you an excuse to nap/ read while sharing the space with the birds. The quietness is awesome as you listen carefully to hear the wild turkeys calling or the sound of a hummingbird's wings.

Most guest enjoy dining breakfast, lunch and dinner on the screened porch. And oh yes, the view does not go down with the sun--as you enjoy looking down on the valley at night lights twinkling in Waynesville adding magic to the nights.

The large gourmet kitchen which is open to the great room is well equipped for the chef. The guest will enjoy being able to gather around the large granite center island to supervise and sample as dinner is being prepared. For grillers, a large gas grill on the deck is a two steps away from the kitchen.

The home has vaulted beamed ceiling on the main floor. There are 2 stone fireplaces- a wood burning on the main floor and a gas burning on the floor below. The home has 4 hi def TV's, a CD player and the great room upstairs has a DVR for recording your favorite shows.

About The Owner

We are an active couple who enjoy luxury. Hollis sold real estate for the developer of Kiawah on beautiful Kiawah Island, SC. Ann is a retired nurse who is now a tour guide in Charleston, SC. We have traveled and enjoyed staying places that are upscale with good locations. We enjoy the outdoors and yet like the amenities that cities and small towns offer - like great restaurants, upscale shopping etc. We enjoy sharing our home in Waynesville with guest who appreciate the "extras" we offer.

Additional Location Information

Our home is all about location, location, luxury, and views. Once you arrive at our home you will not want to leave even though the easy access and proximity to the amenities will offer you the option.

Hiking trails are too many to mentions and the Blue Ridge Parkway plus Lake Junaluska -with it's 2 mile walk around - are about 5 miles from our home. Even a hike up our road can be quite invigorating.

Shopping , golf, and gourmet food can be an added benefit to being at our location. Laurel Ridge Country club Golf Course is only a mile away. Shopping is about a 7 minute drive to Waynesville- a lovely little artsy town. Our home is easy to escape too and yet secluded and private. We regret we are not able to accommodate motorcycles in this community. We are not able to have outdoor fire/ fire pits at this location. We do not offer our home during months that have severe weather- Dec. Jan. Feb. March.

Parking is limited to 4 vehicles and no trailers can be accommodated. We have attempted to furnish our home with everything you will need to make your vacation complete - without having to pack everything. Our furnishings are first class not second hand. We want our guest to feel pampered, spoiled and, feel their vacation is very special and memorable.

Our bedrooms all are equipped with comfortable king size beds and luxury linens. The beds beg you to oversleep. The master bedroom is located on the main floor and the 3 additional bedrooms are located on the lower floor. Our first floor is accessible for persons with limited mobility as there is only 1 step up from the garage into the main floor. All bedrooms have an en-suite bath.

Asheville is about a 30 min drive and is well worth exploring. Our property manager is located a few miles from our home and available to assist as needed. Wake up to the majesty of the Smokey mountains - where God and beauty come together.

While enjoying our home take time to smell and pick the flowers in the lovely garden. Many times there are fresh herbs for the chef to explore.

Our home offers one a get-a-way vacation with beauty, memories and relaxation. Once you stay here, take in the view , breathe the fresh mountain air - it will remove the wrinkles from your soul and you will return again and again. Additional Property Information

In visiting the beautiful mountains of NC prior to completing the building our home in 2007, we could not find a home with the views, ease of access and the luxuries we wanted. Many places we stayed in this area were so remote that it took forever to reach the home- once you were in the area. Those remote areas made traveling after dark difficult, and there for we found ourselves staying home and not venturing out at night. Many homes had only the basic furnishings, and we were disappointed each time. In seven homes we rented while building our home, not one even had a wine glass. We fixed these disappointments for our guest.

Policies
We manage our property our selves with the help or our property manager, who lives close by our home. We enjoy talking with our potential guest prior to committing to a reservation to be sure there are no questions and that our home is a good choice.

We can not accommodate pets, smokers, motorcycles, fire pits, or trailers. We are the only home that is rented on our mountain, and we wish to continue to be good neighbors to our friends who live close by. We limit our home to 8 guest total. Our home can not be used as a gathering place for events. Parking is very limited at our home.

We do not have a garbage service and guest who are staying for longer than a week will have to take their garbage to a garbage receptacle , which we supply the directions. If the guest are staying for less than 7 days, there is a cleaning fee of $180. There is also an 11.5% tax that is an accommodations tax for our area.

Our home is not available in the winter months as ice and snow can make it unreachable.
Cancellation Policy
If a potential guest is interested in our home, we are happy to answer emails and take telephone calls. Once we reserve our home for guest, a rental contract and information about our home is emailed. A deposit is expected within 10 days of a verbal commitment. The final payment and damage deposit is expected a month before arrival and at that time directions and check in instructions are sent. The damage deposit is returned if no damage occurs within one month.

Suitability Details
If a guest has limited mobility, our home is a possible option. There is only one step up from our garage onto the main floor, where the master bedroom and main living area is located. The downstairs has approximately 20 steps to the lower level.

Awesome home with GREAT location!

Ann and Hollis haven’t forgotten a thing! They are very communicative, and responsive to any questions/concerns. The house was well-appointed, comfortable, and had room for a wonderful family reunion and vacation. It was really nice to have a private bath for each room, as well as king-size beds! Also, there was ample space for “hanging out” and to watch TV on one of the many flat-screen televisions throughout the home. The views were great – the mornings were worth getting up early to see the sun rise with the “smoke” coming over the mountain peaks. The drive is very easy (compared to other areas like Utah Mountain), and is only a few short minutes into downtown Historic Waynesville, as well as Maggie Valley and other areas of interest (Walmart, Chick-fil-A, Ingles, etc.). The home is also right next to Laurel Ridge Country Club, and not too far from Waynesville Inn Golf Resort and Spa – both had scenic and challenging golf options! The house is also very close to get on the highway towards Asheville, so you are only 30 minutes or so from the Biltmore and other Asheville options. Our family enjoyed the location so much that we are purchasing our own home just down the street! We would recommend this home to anyone as a wonderful rental option!

Summer Golf Retreat

I have rented this home from Ann & Hollis many times in the past 5 years. They are super to work with and the home is always clean and ready upon arrival. It has absolutely everything you will need to make your stay enjoyable. We always make a day trip to several of the waterfalls in the area, the Cherokee Casino, Asheville for a day at the Biltmore and of course a stroll through downtown Waynesville. Please trust me, this is the best rental in the mountains.

Annual mountain vacation

Every year four couples, old and dearest friends from different parts of country get together for a week. For the past several years we have had the privilege of staying in the beautiful home with a great view, surrounded by nature and the Great Smokey Mountains. The home is clean, comfortable, fully equipped a great place for a relaxing vacation. Year after year we continue to explore this mountain area. Very close to the town of Historic Waynesville a must visit. Fun shopping and great restaurants.

Girls Getawy

This beautifully appointed, comfortable home was perfect for a girls' getaway with my three BFFs. Each of the lovely four bedrooms has its own bathroom with every amenity one might need for a weekend away. The kitchen also was very well stocked. The views from this home are amazing and we're looking forward to a return trip in warmer weather when we can relax outside on the many porches. Having a garage to park in was a huge plus, as was being so close to Waynesville.
