New for 2019...New sofas, chairs and end tables in the great room. New kitchen cabinetry and counter tops, upgrades to the kitchen including the addition of a 2nd sink, 2nd stove/oven and garbage disposal. New carpet and hardwoods throughout all 3 levels. New bedding and paint in the "tropical" bedroom. Nearly all of the interior will have fresh paint. As always you can expect cosmetic changes and updates to rooms and furniture due to wear and tear each year.

Appropriately named 'Playtime', this oceanfront/beachfront family friendly vacation rental has it all! If you aren’t simply enjoying the magnificent views of the Atlantic Ocean there’s plenty to keep you busy in this 4800+ square foot house that showcases 5 OCEANFRONT master bedrooms, 3 'kids' room and 2 Sleeper sofas!!
On the first level, there is one oceanfront master bedroom (King bed, TV) with attached bathroom, a laundry room with over-sized washer and dryer, a game room complete with a GAME TABLE, POOL TABLE, cocktail ARCADE table, a Jurassic Park PINBALL machine, KARAOKE machine with CD&G library, separate sound system, a wet bar with full size refrigerator and a THEATER. The theater has tiered seating for 6, a sofa with QSS, 1 chair and boasts a 60' television with 5/1 surround sound speakers as well as expanded cable and a DVD player with over 300 DVDs available for your viewing pleasure. There is a bedroom with a full, twin and trundle beds with TV. House also has wireless high speed internet.
If you are wanting a little more action, turn on the Xbox ONE system and put your game playing skills to the test on the big screen tv. From the 1st level you walkout onto a deck that’s home to a 14’ x 25’ lighted swimming pool (can be heated for $450 additional), hot tub and a private walkway to a gazebo and the beach. Relax with the sound of the ocean, or turn up the music on the outdoor speakers which can be run from your smart phone.
Move on to the second level and you will find 3 additional oceanfront master bedrooms (King beds), all with TVs (cable & DVD) and access to decks. Two of the oceanfront masters on this level have attached private bathrooms. There are 2 additional bedrooms with private bathrooms, tv W/cable & DVD. 1 bedroom has 1 bunk (twin up, double down) with a trundle, the other has 1 bunk (twin up, double down) and an additional twin bed.
Continue up to the third level and you will be able to admire the beauty of a reverse floor-plan and the breathtaking views it provides! This oceanfront beauty faces the ocean with a southern exposure. Not only do you get both sunrise & sunset over the ocean, you won't be looking directly into the sun as you enjoy the views. There is a huge kitchen, dining room with seating for 26 (Very rare to find a large rental where everyone can actually eat together!) and living room complete with sound system w/CD, cable TV gas fireplace and a QSS. This level is also where the 5th oceanfront master bedroom (King w/cable TV), complete with Jacuzzi tub, is located. You will not only enjoy the oceanfront views but also sound views from this level, something only a few vacation rentals can offer.
All floors are connected by extensive decking, interior and exterior stairs as well as an ELEVATOR from parking to all 3 levels to allow quick access to anywhere. House is equipped with a water treatment system. All 8 bedrooms have access to shared or private decks. Tv's with cable in EVERY ROOM!! (excluding bathrooms) Beach chairs, sand & water toys and collections of movies, Xbox games, board games, puzzles, books, magazines and indoor toys are a few of the little extras you will find at this vacation rental.
On the parking level we have a private mini golf course with obstacles that you can move around to make it as fun or hard as you want. A gas grill and 2 charcoal grills as well as a picnic table to sit at while using the grill or eat at.

Vacation rentals run Saturday to Saturday with weekly rentals only. 10 bedroom (8 bedrooms + 2 QSS in theater and great room) towels & linens with beds made are provided, No Pets, No Smoking!! Travel Insurance is available for an additional cost.
Daily and weekend rentals only considered last minute and during off-season (late October - December) Minimum rate is $1800 for a 4 day/3 night stay, please email for further information.

Playtime Beach Cottage at Emerald Isle, NC
We marked our calendars a year ago and all of us counted the days until we returned to Playtime. We represent 5 families with 9 children ages 4-11 years of age.....5 girls and 4 boys and Playtime has something special for each of us......The house is roomy and provides spaces for rest, relaxation and all the fun we could ever imagine.....plus it has a pool, hot tub, movie theatre and a huge kitchen with plenty of room to prepare meal for our large families....the children love the pinball machine and tried to set a new record for the week.....there were movies with appeal to all ages.....we loved being ocean front and seeing the beautiful beach/ocean everyday and all during the days.....the house is built to provide lots of light and full views of the beach. We could not ask for a better place to spend our time together.....I should also mention that there is an elevator to help load and unload the luggage, groceries and other essentials for our vacation. This was our 4th year at Playtime and our joy has increased each year.....Playtime is a very special place to each of us and our youngest grandchild asked very nicely could we please come back again......even though we've been home awhile now we continue to have wonderful conversations about our time together in the wonderful, beautiful "Purple House"...being there really is magical.....and now, I'm counting the days until we are once again all together at Playtime!

Life is this Beach
We had the most amazing vacation ever, and we've already booked for next year. Thank you. We had 8 small children who were so happy....no meltdowns. The beach was perfect. The house was incredible. Thanks, Playtime.

Joyous family reunion at Playtime at the Beach
There were 17-20 of our family at any given time during the week, including a VERY elderly family member. The elevator was a life saver and enabled her to take advantage of being at the beach. The house is very well equipped. LOTS of beach accessories, wonderfully equipped kitchen. Game room was wonderful, having the two refrigerators in the kitchen was GREAT. AND the one in the game room was perfect for "beverages" near the pool. The house is very well maintained. You would not have known that this house was "lived in" by strangers nearly every week of the year. We would LOVE to go back next year. We are trying to pick a date that is good for everyone!

Gorgeous home, unbeatable views, beautifully maintained
We could not have picked a better spot for our family reunion at the beach. Incredible kitchen with everything you could imagine--ice cream maker got a workout! Both shaded and open decks with spectacular view of ocean, dunes and even dolphins! Hot tub and pinball machine were great hits with the young adults. All rooms and amenities were clean and well-maintained, and gas grill was a major plus. Would not hesitate to recommend or stay again--it was an awesome experience!
