Welcome to Second Base at Holden Beach.
This beautiful home in the dunes of Holden Beach, North Carolina is a great escape from the hectic world.
Inside, this comfortable home has plenty of space for everyone with three HD TVs and one DVD player; there is also a stereo system in the living room that is connected to speakers on the porch. The home has an extensive library so there is plenty of reading material for all the "beach readers" in your family. The home has wireless internet, an over the air antenna and Roku sticks on all TVs so you can watch your any of your streaming services.
The bathrooms were remodeled in 2020 and now feature all white fixtures; walk in shower in the master and tub/shower combo in the second bathroom.
The downstairs is enclosed with two parking areas on either end and a play area with a ping pong table for the kids... great for rainy days at the beach. There are three adult bikes for those who need to exercise while they are at the beach.
There is a wonderful enclosed shower downstairs, the best place to shower during the summer!
Located on the east (short) end of Holden Beach at 154 Carolina Avenue, Second Base gives you easy access on and off the island. Second Base is within walking distance of Mermaid's Grill, Dock House and Castaways! It's also within walking distance of the basketball court, bocce ball court and playground on Brunswick Avenue.
A great home at a great family beach; come here when you need to get-away from it all!

Home Run at Second Base
Second base is a beautiful home that was the perfect size for a family of 7. It was loaded with all comforts of home and the beach was easily accessible. The home was clean, the beds were comfortable, the view from the back porch was amazing, and the owner of the home was very responsive via email. This was our first time at Holden Beach and we made amazing memories. We will definitely be back and hope to stay at Second Base again.

Perfect for families!
Second Base at Holden Beach is lovely house that is a few rows back and at the end of a dead end street. The location is ideal for families and the house itself is very welcoming with a huge selection of books for kids and adults. Our family enjoyed the board games and puzzles on the two eveninga it rained. The back porch is a nice place to enjoy coffee in the mornings with a view of the ocean. It is also a bonus that the house has its own chairs and sand toys. The owners make renting the house very easy and are open to answering questions via email.
We would highly reccomend staying here to friends and families!

Holden Beach or Bust
Our family has been visiting Holden Beach since 2008 and have always stayed in a family members house just off the island. However the beach house was sold this past fall and our family had the task of finding a new home away from home and ON the island just made since. Second Base at Holden had everything we were looming for and then some! The lovely house is spacious enough to comfortably sleep 9. We were able to spread out with our family of 6 and still have the 3 twins available in the sunroom. Our family enjoyed the deck with the ocean view and all of the board games/puzzles in the sunroom.I was impressed with the book collection for ALL ages. This is a great home that caters to families. The walk to the beach is made much easier but the cart at the home, however it is about a 6 minute walk at most. Renting through the owner is so simple. We cant thank Vicki enough for making our first trip to a new Holden home painless! We would highly reccomend Second Base at Holden Beach!

Much needed family getaway
We are so thankful for our stay at Second Base this past week. We were able to travel as a family of 6 along with my Mom and my Sister and 2 nephews. The house was great since it accommodated us with 6 kids 12 and under perfectly. The distance from the beach was a short walk, even with young kids. The use of the beach toys, chairs, and cart made the trek seem much easier.
We also enjoyed the amenities in the house along with the kitchen where we found all we needed. The newly renovated bathrooms were lovely and our kids loved having their own space in the sunny "kids" room.
We spent a lot of time on the deck admiring the view of the ocean and enjoyed bike rides around the island. We love Holden Beach, and always look forward to opportunities to come back. Hopefully we can book a week at Second Base again in future years.

Second Base is the Place
We had a great week staying at Second Base on Holden Beach! The house was clean on arrival & was nicely decorated! Love the layout with the spacious master bedroom & bath being on the left side of the house & the other two bedrooms & bathroom being on the right. It also has a great sun porch with more sleeping space if needed. We loved sitting on the back porch & looking at the ocean. Just a short walk to the beach a few streets over. We had a great week!
