Perfect Family Retreat!

Our family fell in love with Bison Escape! It has such a welcoming, warm, down to earth feel because of Cheryl and her family, who were helpful at every turn, and have truly made it into something special with little touches like firewood and s'mores makings to greet us when we arrived. The kids enjoyed feeding the friendly horses each morning as my husband and I drank our coffee on the porch, the game room was a huge hit, the beds super cozy, and the chipmunk hole under the hammock quite entertaining. The kids made s'mores in the outdoor fireplace while my hubby and I sat in the hot tub looking at the milky way after a long day hike near Big Creek which included lots of swimming and playing in the (very cold) mountain stream. We also enjoyed exploring the trails, feeding the goats and llamas, seeing the bison, and goofing off in the tire swing and playground over at the main property. Our horseback ride with John at Panther Creek was beautiful and educational as he gave us the local and natural history of the mountain, including some civil war dramas. We took the short drive into Waynesville for a little funky/artsy culture, some yummy farm-to-table meals, good wine and microbrews. It's off the beaten path, quiet and secluded, but accessible to everything. Perfect place for a great family vacation - we will definitely be back again!!!

Exactly what we needed!!!

We arrived at Bison Escape & was pleasantly surprised at how welcoming it was. From the s'mores basket to our names greeting us by the door...what a nice touch! Our kids never came out of the game room except for more food to fill the bar that was in the game room! At night the adults sure enjoyed the hot tub & we grilled some bison burgers on the grill! Highly recommend! The cabin had everything inside that we needed! The kitchen is very well stocked & we ate most of our meals in, but we did venture out & recommend Butt on the Creek (BBQ)! It is less that a mile drive to the main ranch to see the buffalo which we did about 2 times. It was so great to see them up close! Our little kids really enjoyed that! Then we walked down to see the llamas & mini horses...thanks again for a memorable vacation. We will definitely recommend you to friends & be back!

Beautiful Cabin!

What a beautiful cabin and location! This cabin is so inviting and has everything you need (and more!)... front porch to sit on, fire pit, hot tub, grill, game room and horses right outside the door to greet you in the morning. Such a tranquil setting. We enjoyed going over to see the bison, llamas, mini horses, goats and rabbits. The owners are so friendly. It is a very convenient location to Asheville or Cherokee. We would definitely recommend it!

An amazing property!

We just love Western NC & this cabin. It was so nice to sit out in the hot tub after go out on adventures everyday! Buffalo Creek Vacations is so convenient to all the attractions. We went white water rafting through Cheryl who booked us a trip w/ Wild Water Adventures & it was wonderful! We went to Sliding Rock, Looking Glass Falls & another cool place that our kids LOVED that Cheryl told us about. We have rented other cabins in the past, but hands down this cabin had everything we needed & more. We will definitely be back the next time we visit the Great Smoky Mountains! Also, we drove over to the main ranch right down the road & watched the buffalo being fed which was a huge treat for our kids & then we were able to buy bison meat at their little store which we grilled out one night & it was fabulous!
