We really enjoyed our stay at Mena’s Place.
We really enjoyed our stay at Mena’s Place. Many things exceeded our expectations. First, it has authentic historic charm with its wood wainscoting, brick fireplace, front porch, and granite stone foundation. The story of the home, as recounted in the guestbook, was an interesting read. Of course the place was clean and new - it had just been renovated, and in July ‘20, we were the first guests! The big and flat back yard was great for playing soccer with the kids. A well-maintained paved greenway trail starts across the street and leads to a lovely park and Banner Elk restaurants and shops only a quarter-mile away. Our kids loved playing in the clean and cool-running stream alongside the trail and in the park. Even closer was Kettell Brewing, just steps away, great for grabbing some food and beers. The only downside from all this convenience is that sometimes, the road noise from passing vehicles was obvious - but only with the windows open. The owners replied quickly to all our notes. Overall, these elements really made Mena’s Place not just a place to stay, but a great part of our vacation in and of itself.
