This has to be the best rental I've brought my family and friends too! Very pet friendly!
What the Shell is very cozy with a beach vibe! Highly recommended!

Great Rental at Holden Beach
We had a wonderful week at Holden Beach, beautiful weather. This is the first time that we have vacationed at the ocean in the fall. We typically would go in August before school starts (when our kids were younger, now are adults). We have vacationed at Kill Devil Hills (3 times), Ocean Isle Beach, Atlantic Beach, Myrtle Beach (several times) and Jekyll Island, Ga (2 times). But we all enjoyed this one the most. No one, even our son-in-law who is a home body, wanted to leave Saturday.
Your house was perfect for us. Our two dogs really loved the front porch, always a nice breeze there, and comfortable rockers. I think I wore the yellow one out. Sat out there quite a while each evening after dark.
We put the beach chairs and umbrella to use every day. Even took a bike ride one day.
Regarding restaurants, we ate at Mermaids, The Cove, and The Provision Company in Holden Beach, and drove down to Ocean Isle Beach one day and ate at Sharkey's. We had eaten there when we stayed at Ocean Isle back in 2013. Everybody liked Provision Company the best, but liked Sharkey's the very best. But our favorite place to go evenings was Beaches & Cream!
We will all be back to visit Holden beach, and stay again at What the Shell.

Great place to stay
Looking forward to another year staying at Penny’s home. She is terrific to work with and makes you feel like a good friend. Home is always clean and has everything you need. Close to beach and pet friendly is a plus. You will not regret your time staying here!
