Great Weekend

We enjoyed a wonderful weekend staying here for a wedding we were invited to. Our granddaughter, husband and 3 children were there with us and the place was perfect for us. Each had there own rooms with comfy beds to sleep in. There was plenty of space for the two older children to play and it was close to the beach, although for November we didn't go. It was clean and well maintained, the carpet is showing wear in some places but clean and the filter in the fridge needed to be replaced. The only other thing I have negative to say is the information on checkout for laundry is different over washer and dryer than the information sent to you, that needs to be updated and made clear how many loads of laundry they expect the cleaning crew to wash as we did it in 2 loads but felt like it needed to be divided up into more loads due to bed sizes and the number of beds used. We would love to go back and stay for a week with family so that we could use the beach when it's warmer. We will see when we can make plans to return based upon availability.

Interior of house is comfortable and as described in ad.

House is comfortable and close to beach access. We did not use the amenities of the Wild Dunes area so I cannot comment on that.
I was disappointed that the yard appeared to not have had maintenance for a while and is overgrown. The only place to walk dogs is on someone else's property or common areas which were close by. The picture in the ad that shows the dogs is very deceptive. Nowhere on that property looks like that picture. Also some lighting outside at the front of the house would be nice when taking dogs out late at night.
With that being said, The house was as advertised we enjoyed our time there. The dogs were glad they got to stay with us.

Not the best, not the worst

Overall we had a great time and the home was fine for our needs. I hate to be critical but there were enough minor issues that added up to a 3-star review.

When I read some of the prior reviews I felt the reviewers were maybe being over critical. For example the reviewer who mentioned the smell in the garage... - I get it, this is a beach home and typical for that kind of space so I overlooked that. But I recall a reviewer mentioning the master bath toilet and have to agree - it moves when you sit on it! I was afraid it was going to leak.

My biggest issues were ones regarding safety:
-For example the guest bath has the hot and cold water in the shower BACKWARDS. BE CAREFUL!!!! There is no excuse for this.
-Also, one of the electrical outlets in the kitchen in the main area is loose! Again BE CAREFUL when connecting, disconnecting appliances or chargers.
-Note, the master bath tub is super high and may be difficult for some to get in.

The rest of my gripes are trivial but worthy of sharing:
-The dryer sounded like a train coming through the home, you cannot use it with kids in bed.
-The carpet is in bad shape. Not just stains from kids or pets, but seams coming apart and zero padding - it felt like walking on plywood and there are soft spots in the sub flooring.
-The dimmer for the great room lights is installed upside down. Just a funny example of the many over looked details in the home.
-One of the chairs in the picture is so worn that it is coming apart in the arms.
-THe only entrance you can use is the garage door. A code was not given for the front door, so you have to leave and enter through the garage (and hope power is not out...)

Overall the house was clean but it is dated and well used. The beds were comfortable and clean and the towels were clean but super thin. The kitchen was minimally stocked compared to the many other VRBOs. Like I noted in the title, this was not the worst home we have stayed in but it did not make our top list.

This place was very clean! It is in a terrific location! Will definitely stay again!

Beautiful home!

We loved the house, it was very nice and inviting. Great location, short walk to the beach! I loved that they allowed pets, so our two dogs could enjoy the beach with us!!
