An amazing experience!
Staying at "our" spacious and cozy 2-bedroom villa was a truly amazing experience. To begin with, the condo is in absolutely pristine condition. The owners have just repainted the whole unit, paneled and tiled floors, replaced furniture and added faster internet service. The colors of the walls and furniture complement each other beautifully and evoke the light of the beach and ocean.
The artwork very tastefully reflects the beautiful vegetation in the resort.
There were two of us staying in the condo, and we each had our own private bedroom, bathroom and balcony. The layout of the unit is very well conceived. The communal area of kitchen and living room is in the center; to the right and left are the spacious bedrooms and bathrooms. Both bathrooms have been newly and very tastefully retiled; the one off the “Master bedroom” is a step-in shower. In each bedroom there is ample closet and dresser space. There is a T.V. and DVD player in each bedroom and in the living room. The kitchen is very well equipped and all appliances are up-to-date and functioning flawlessly.
The owners gave us with many recommendations pertaining to the resort as well as the surrounding area prior to our arrival, and the resort staff provided excellent customer service.
I loved sitting on the balcony watching the turtles come onto the grass out of the lagoon in the afternoon when the sun had come around to that side of the building. In the morning, we would read the paper or greet the neighbors on the porch at the front of the building.
My favorite activity at the resort and the surrounding area was biking, and although I was skeptical about it, biking on the beach proved to be not only possible but a truly exhilarating experience. I also loved my morning walks of either the small loop of 3 miles or the longer one of 5 miles within the resort community. Along the way, I got to see egrets, turtles, many smaller birds, and - alligators!
Getting from the villa to Mt. Pleasant and Charleston is very easy and takes little time. We had visitors from the north with whom we explored Charleston and some of its surrounding attractions, such as Middleton Place and Magnolia Plantation. Biking to historic Mt. Pleasant and walking the Ravenel Bridge were some other highlights of our stay.
Staying at this lovely condo was a truly restful and restorative experience, good for body, mind and soul.
