Day and night the gazebo was perfect and relaxing! The sun can be too hot for some of us but the covered swing allowed me to still enjoy all of the outdoor events. This is the only house I noticed that had a covered swing. So glad we choose the Po Boy! We plan to come back soon!

The sun shined every day and we played on the beach morning and afternoon. Water temperature was perfect. We were here with sons and our daughter, her husband and our grand-daughter who loved the sand and water. There was plenty of room for all of us. My husband wanted me to comment on how nice the kitchen is. My favorite amenity is the porch swing - great for morning coffee or for curling up with a book. Thank you for sharing your home.

This vintage beach cottage is charming, comfortable and very clean. The owner is so friendly and helpful and quick to respond to any questions. Down the steps, over the dunes and there is a bit of heaven waiting for you! No trouble sleeping here because the sound of the waves crashing into shore relaxes you like Gumby. The home is well equipped with all the comforts we think we can't live without. It's an easy drive to dining, shopping, Southport, Myrtle Beach or Wilmington. Po Boy is a great memory maker!

My family of 3 (myself, wife and 5 yo daughter) thoroughly enjoyed our week at the Po Boy. The location can not be beat. Each morning, (after enjoying coffee on the porch swing on the gazebo, watching pelicans dive for their breakfast) I would go out and set up the umbrella (provided) on the beach - just steps from the back door over the dune. From there we could play, swim, read (repeat) all morning until we were hungry for lunch. We would leave the umbrella and chairs on the beach while we went back to the house for lunch (and usually naps). After refueling and resting we would go right back out to our spot in the shade and continue enjoying the awesome beach. The beach itself is very clean. Not crowded with just enough folks for good people watching. This was the first year my daughter discovered Sand Fiddlers and had tons of fun catching (and releasing) them every day (Just like when I was a kid!). We had great weather. One thunderstorm, which we enjoyed watching from the gazebo. Other than that, nice and sunny. We did most of our cooking and the Po Boy everything we needed. Kitchen was well equipped and the large charcoal grill was nice too. A couple of nights we didn't feel like cooking - no problem. We just called in an order to the pizza restaurant across the way and walked over to pick it up (good pizza, sandwiches, salads - some good beers on tap). Super convenient. We took a day trip over to the Ft. Fisher Aquarium (take the Ferry!). Top notch aquarium. We drove into Manteo for some seafood. Lots of restaurant choices. The owners were great. Reservations were super simple. Apparently the washing machine wasn't working ahead of our arrival. The owners didn't want to inconvenience us with a repairman visit during the week. So instead they replaced the washer themselves (on Sunday) less than 24 hours after our arrival. Thats what I call top-notch service! We loved our time at the Po Boy and intend to make this a new summer tradition. As I type this I can picture the view from the porch swing...ahhh, so nice.
